Team Vitality are the ESL Pro League Season 24 champions! The Counter-Strike 2 tournament concluded in Katowice, Poland, on October 11, with Vitality sweeping MOUZ 3–0 in the Grand Final. The French organization claimed a record fourth ESL Pro League title, while Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut once again showed why he belongs among the world’s best players.
In our playoff preview, we focused on Vitality and MOUZ’s unbeaten runs, Spirit’s difficult road to the knockout stage and 1win’s unexpected breakthrough. The two favorites did eventually meet in the final, but the other storylines took some surprising turns. Here’s how the tournament played out with 888STARZ.
Vitality vs MOUZ: A Three-Map Sweep to Seal the Title
October 11 | Grand Final — Vitality 3–0 MOUZ
- Cache — 13–8
- Inferno — 13–7
- Dust2 — 16–12
MOUZ started strongly on Cache, racing into a 5–1 lead before Vitality took control. On Inferno, apEX and his teammates gave their opponents little room to breathe.
Dust2 was a much closer contest. MOUZ reached map point, but Vitality forced overtime and eventually closed out the map 16–12 to complete the sweep.
ZywOo was the standout performer, finishing the final with 64 kills across three maps and a 1.65 HLTV rating. His dominant display earned him the tournament MVP award.
It was Vitality’s fourth ESL Pro League trophy, more than any other organization in the competition’s history.
Vitality and MOUZ Lived Up to Their Favorite Status
In our preview, we highlighted how both teams had made it through the group stage without a single series defeat. They carried that momentum into the playoffs.
Vitality dispatched PARIVISION 2–0 in the quarterfinals before overcoming Aurora 2–1 in a hard-fought semifinal, dropping their first map of the knockout stage.
MOUZ were equally convincing early on, beating FURIA 2–0 before defeating Spirit for the second time in the tournament, this time 2–1.
So the biggest storyline from our preview came true: the two strongest group-stage performers met in the Grand Final. What nobody got was the close title fight many had expected.
Spirit Miss Out on a Medal as Aurora Impress
October 11 | Third-Place Match — Aurora 2–0 Spirit
Spirit opened the playoffs with a convincing 2–0 win over Falcons. But their momentum didn’t last. A semifinal loss to MOUZ was followed by another defeat against Aurora in the bronze-medal match.
Aurora took Mirage 13–9 and Anubis 13–6, leaving Spirit outside the top three.
For Aurora, the playoffs were a major success. They swept 1win 2–0, took a map off eventual champions Vitality and then secured third place with a commanding performance against Spirit.
Meanwhile, 1win and PARIVISION, two of the group stage’s biggest surprises, saw their campaigns end in the quarterfinals. Neither managed to win a map in the knockout stage.
The Biggest Takeaways from ESL Pro League Season 24
Sixteen teams competed for a share of the $1 million prize pool. Vitality took the trophy, MOUZ finished runners-up and Aurora claimed third place.
The tournament highlighted the difference between performing well in the group stage and delivering when the championship is on the line. Neither 1win nor PARIVISION could maintain their momentum, Spirit missed the podium, and Vitality barely put a foot wrong when it mattered most.
Next on the ESL Pro Tour calendar is IEM Beijing 2026, scheduled for November 2–8. It will be another opportunity for Vitality’s rivals to challenge the champions.
