The Premier League returns after a three-week international break with several fixtures that could have an immediate impact at both ends of the table.
The biggest spotlight falls on Anfield. Manchester City have won all five league matches and travel to Liverpool as the only Premier League side with a perfect record. Saturday also brings another major storyline at Old Trafford, where Manchester United face a Tottenham side sitting bottom of the table after five rounds.
Defending champions Arsenal, meanwhile, will look to respond after their first defeat of the season when they host unbeaten Leeds.
We break down the key matches of Premier League Matchweek 6 and look at how the pre-match market at 888STARZ sees them.
Liverpool vs Manchester City: Almost Nothing Between Them in the Main Match of the Weekend
11 October
The headline fixture of Matchweek 6 is also Manchester City’s first major test after a flawless start.
City top the table with a maximum 15 points from five matches. Liverpool remain unbeaten as well, but three draws have left them sixth with 9 points.
Liverpool went into the international break with a narrow 1–0 win over Bournemouth, while City maintained their 100% record and stayed clear at the top.
There is also an individual battle to watch in attack. Erling Haaland has scored five league goals, while Alexander Isak is already on four. Two of the Premier League’s most productive forwards so far will meet in one of the biggest games of the autumn.
888STARZ Odds
- Liverpool to win — 2.62
- Draw — 3.82
- Manchester City to win — 2.69
The market shows just how close this game is expected to be.
Despite City’s perfect start, there is no clear favourite at Anfield, with the prices on both sides almost identical.
A City win would prove that the leaders can keep delivering even in one of the toughest away fixtures in England. Liverpool, however, have the chance to cut the gap to three points and become the first team to properly stop City this season.
Manchester United vs Tottenham: The Market Backs the Hosts
10 October
Before the season, this fixture could easily have been viewed as a battle between two teams chasing European places. Five rounds in, the picture looks very different.
Manchester United sit 12th with five points, having managed one win, two draws and two defeats.
Tottenham’s position is even worse. Spurs are 20th with just two points and still without a victory. They have scored only twice in five league matches and arrive at Old Trafford under serious pressure.
The betting market is far more decisive here than it is for Liverpool vs City.
888STARZ Odds
- Manchester United to win — 1.76
- Draw — 4.26
- Tottenham to win — 4.73
888STARZ makes United a clear favourite.
That is understandable given home advantage and Tottenham’s poor start, but Manchester United have been too inconsistent themselves to treat 1.76 as a sign of a completely one-sided contest.
This will be one of the most interesting games to revisit in Monday’s results digest: will the favourite justify the market, or will Tottenham finally claim their first league win at Old Trafford?
Arsenal vs Leeds: The Clearest Favourite of the Weekend
10 October
Arsenal begin the round in second place, three points behind Manchester City.
The defending champions had made an almost perfect start with four straight victories, but their final match before the break ended in a painful 3–0 defeat away to Brighton.
Now Arsenal return to the Emirates to face one of the early surprises of the season.
Leeds have 9 points from five games and remain unbeaten. They have won twice and drawn three times.
Despite that strong start, the market is very clear about who it expects to win this one.
888STARZ Odds
- Arsenal to win — 1.44
- Draw — 5.03
- Leeds to win — 8.20
This is the biggest price gap among our three featured matches.
Arsenal are available at just 1.44, while an away win for unbeaten Leeds is priced at 8.20.
The key question is how Arsenal respond to the 3–0 defeat at Brighton. If they return to winning ways comfortably, the pre-match market will have read the game correctly. If Leeds preserve their unbeaten run, it will be one of the biggest surprises of the weekend.
What Else to Watch in Matchweek 6
Saturday offers several other interesting fixtures.
Chelsea vs Bournemouth. Chelsea have struggled for consistency and arrive after a heavy defeat to Brentford. A home match against Bournemouth gives them a chance to respond.
Aston Villa vs Brentford. Brentford have made a strong start and sit among the leading group, making this a much tighter contest than many would have expected before the season.
Sunderland vs Brighton. Brighton have been one of the early surprises and entered the international break after an impressive 3–0 win over Arsenal.
Ipswich vs Fulham is also part of Saturday’s schedule.
On Sunday, Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest and Hull City vs Everton will be played before the main event at Anfield.
The round concludes on Monday with Coventry City vs Newcastle United.

What the Market Is Telling Us Before Matchweek 6
The three headline fixtures offer three very different betting pictures.
Arsenal are the clearest favourite. Their price of 1.44 reflects a major advantage despite Leeds’ unbeaten start.
Manchester United are also strongly backed. The hosts are priced at 1.76, compared with 4.73 for Tottenham.
But in the biggest match of the weekend, there is almost nothing between the teams: Liverpool at 2.62 and Manchester City at 2.69.
That is exactly why Matchweek 6 is ideal for our preview → results format.
We now have the 888STARZ pre-match prices fixed before kick-off. After the weekend, we will look back at the key results and see where the market got the balance right — and where the Premier League produced another surprise.
