EuroLeague Round 5 Results: Olympiacos Pull Off Historic Comeback, Panathinaikos and Real Madrid Win

Round 5 of the 2026/27 EuroLeague wrapped up on October 14, delivering ten games and one of the most remarkable comebacks in competition history. Olympiacos overturned a 28-point deficit against Valencia, Panathinaikos secured an impressive road victory in Belgrade, and Real Madrid proved too strong for Olimpia Milano.

In our preview, we focused on these three matchups: Partizan’s home-court advantage, Real Madrid’s challenging trip to Milan, and Valencia’s attempt to stop the defending champions. Which expectations were met, and what caught everyone by surprise? Let’s look at the biggest results with 888STARZ.

Partizan vs Panathinaikos: Five Wins from Five for the Greeks

October 13 | Partizan 55–72 Panathinaikos

In our preview, we highlighted the electric atmosphere in Belgrade as a potential advantage for Partizan. But the visitors managed to take the crowd out of the game.

The first quarter ended level at 16–16. Panathinaikos then gradually took control, before pulling away decisively after halftime. By the start of the final quarter, the Greek side had built a 19-point lead.

Nigel Hayes-Davis led the winners with 14 points. Partizan, meanwhile, were held to just 55 — nowhere near enough to challenge one of the competition’s early leaders.

Panathinaikos finished Round 5 with a perfect 5–0 record. Their victory in Belgrade offered further proof of their outstanding early-season form.

Olimpia Milano vs Real Madrid: A Decisive Run Changes Everything

October 13 | Olimpia Milano 89–98 Real Madrid

Milan started strongly and took the opening quarter 25–21. But Real Madrid soon shifted gears, producing a devastating 24–3 run across the second and third quarters.

The visitors led 53–40 at halftime and extended their advantage to 17 points heading into the final period.

Andrés Feliz contributed 15 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Facundo Campazzo added 13 points. Leandro Bolmaro stood out for Milan with 21.

We had expected Milan’s revamped roster to cause problems for the Spanish giants. Instead, Real Madrid showed greater consistency and secured a valuable away victory.

Valencia vs Olympiacos: A Comeback from 28 Points Down

October 13 | Valencia 97–102 Olympiacos (OT)

Without question, the standout game of Round 5.

Valencia came flying out of the blocks with a 10–0 run and went into halftime leading 59–34. Early in the third quarter, the hosts stretched their advantage to an astonishing 28 points.

At that stage, Valencia looked set to hand the defending champions their first defeat. Olympiacos, however, had other ideas.

Evan Fournier scored all 23 of his points after halftime, playing a crucial role in the comeback. Valencia’s Jean Montero finished with 26 points, but the Greek side steadily erased the deficit and forced overtime at 90–90.

Olympiacos then completed the turnaround, winning the extra period to secure a stunning 102–97 victory.

The comeback from 28 points down equalled the EuroLeague record. For Valencia, who had won their opening four games, it was a first defeat of the season.
