EuroLeague 2026/27: Round 5 Preview – Biggest Games on October 13–14

The EuroLeague season is heating up! Round 5 takes place on October 13–14, with ten games on the schedule and several of Europe’s basketball powerhouses going head-to-head.

Panathinaikos travel to Belgrade, Real Madrid face a tough road test in Milan, and defending champions Olympiacos take on a strengthened Valencia side. Here’s a closer look at the biggest matchups with 888STARZ.

Partizan vs Panathinaikos: A Heated Night in Belgrade

October 13 | Belgrade

Partizan welcome one of the most successful clubs in European basketball. Belgrade is never an easy place for visiting teams, and clashes with Greek opponents tend to bring plenty of intensity.

Earlier in October, Partizan edged Bayern Munich 86–84, while Panathinaikos comfortably beat Maccabi 90–67.

Now the two sides meet in what promises to be another fiercely contested game. Can Partizan make home-court advantage count, or will the Athens giants take control?

Olimpia Milano vs Real Madrid: A Tough Test for Last Season’s Finalists

October 13 | Milan

Real Madrid enter the new campaign looking to bounce back from their painful 92–85 defeat to Olympiacos in the 2026 EuroLeague final. The Spanish giants have their sights set on another title run, but a trip to Milan presents an early challenge.

Olimpia have made significant changes to their roster, bringing in Darius Thompson, Alec Peters and Moses Wright. Head coach Giuseppe Poeta now faces the task of turning those new additions into a cohesive team.

Can the Italian side challenge one of the leading title contenders, or will Real Madrid show their class on the road?

Valencia vs Olympiacos: The Champions Face a Revamped Rival

October 13 | Valencia

Defending EuroLeague champions Olympiacos head to Spain after lifting the trophy in May with a victory over Real Madrid. Evan Fournier was named Final Four MVP following the Greek club’s triumph.

Valencia also reached last season’s Final Four and have added even more firepower over the summer. Their headline signing is Nikola Mirotic, one of European basketball’s most experienced and accomplished scorers.

The big question: can Valencia’s upgraded roster bring down the reigning champions on home court?

What Else Is Worth Watching?

October 13 also features Fenerbahce vs Zalgiris and Barcelona vs Maccabi Tel Aviv.

On October 14, Anadolu Efes take on Bayern Munich, while Paris Basketball face Virtus Bologna.

The season is still young, but the schedule is already delivering clashes between playoff hopefuls and championship contenders. Round 5 offers another chance to see how the new-look teams are coming together.

Who will rise to the occasion, and who will drop valuable points? We’ll find out on October 13–14 before returning with a review of the biggest results.
