Barcelona are still perfect: 3–0 against Getafe and eight wins from eight in La Liga. Atletico Madrid took three points away at Alaves, Real Madrid edged Villarreal despite finishing with ten men, while Betis produced the highest-scoring game of the weekend.
Before the round, we picked out the key fixtures and locked in the 888STARZ line. Now we can compare it with the results.
Barcelona 3–0 Getafe
The biggest favourite from our preview left no room for doubt.
Before kick-off:
1.07 / 17.50 / 45.00
Anthony Gordon scored in the second minute before Gabriel Jesus and Jules Kounde added two more.
Barcelona now have eight wins from eight and 34 goals scored.
This was exactly what the pre-match line suggested. We wrote on Friday that Getafe were given almost no chance.
Home win at 1.07 landed comfortably.
Real Madrid 1–0 Villarreal
Real Madrid had to work much harder.
Before the match:
1.36 / 6.10 / 8.45
Yan Diomande scored the only goal. Vinicius then came off the bench, had a goal ruled out and was later sent off after a VAR review.
Madrid played the closing stages with ten men but held on for 1–0.
In our preview, Real were clear favourites. The 1.36 landed, but this was nothing like a routine home win.
After eight rounds, Madrid sit only fourth with 18 points, six behind Barcelona.
Alaves 1–2 Atletico Madrid
The pre-match picture also held up here:
4.37 / 3.84 / 1.90
Atletico had to wait until late in the game. After Alaves went down to ten men, the visitors finally found the winner through Cristian Romero.
Away win at 1.90 landed.
Those three points keep Atletico second and five behind Barcelona.
Betis 5–2 Osasuna
The wildest game of Sunday.
Betis scored five, Isco hit a brace, and the win moved them up to third, level with Atletico on 19 points.
Eight rounds in and Betis are already above Real Madrid. That is becoming one of the more interesting early-season stories in Spain.
Other Results
- Malaga — Espanyol — 1–1
- Elche — Celta — 0–0
- Real Sociedad — Deportivo — 3–2
- Racing — Valencia — 2–2
Malaga deserves a mention from our preview as well. The line was almost perfectly balanced at 2.74 / 3.37 / 2.82, and the match ended level.
